When GOG rolled out Galaxy 2 I was happy. Here was the one platform that will help me keep track on which games I have in the other platforms I use. They didn't have a connection to battle.net, but I barley had anything there.

Since then, I started to lose the connection to other platforms. First, no more UBISOFT Connect. Than when EA switched from Origin to their new app - no connection is available. And for almost 6 months (or more - I lost track), there is no connection to Steam. The only connection that works is Epic, and that too is wonkey sometimes.

I dug in and tried to understand what was happenning, and I found out thatt what made all these connections GOG was so proud of, was add-ons made by the community. Meaning, people volenteered their work. And any and all updates were depended on their ability to track all the update the platform they were responsible to made, and making the connections with Galaxy.

Now, I suppose on their end, GOG made sure they were updated with all the changes they were doing to Galaxy, and it worked for a while, but it broke.

And what has GOG done since than to make it better? NOTHING.
The only thing they have been doing to Galaxy is changing how it looks again and again. Like they think that if they will find just the right look, all the gamers will use Galaxy as their main platform.

I have no data about it, but for me, not only it didn't attract me back, it annoyed the hell out of me. More so, since the only change of substance they made was to REDUCE the size of cloud saves per game. And with some games already beeing hard to manage on cloud saves, that reduction made me just disconnect the clousd saving feature - I'll take my chances on local saves.
Yes, they explained that they did it in order to make cloud save available to more games. But neither Epic nor Steam had ever restricted cloud saves that I know of.
It would have been better had they allocated cloud saves space per account, on a basis of how many games are there on said account (and also related to game types, since not all games require huge save files). That would enable the user to manage it, so If I wanted to have all of my space allocated to Cyberpunk 2077, I could.

So, since that reduction I haven't bought any new game from GOG. All the newer games I have are because of Twitch prime - and I have yet to install any of them.

So, they just made another face lift for Galaxy. So, I went and tried to connect to Steam, And I was unsurprised to learn I couldn't connect.

I have many games on my GOG account, some very good. But GOG made it so unfriendly that I haven't reinstalled any of those I had before I suffered a major crash of my CPU, memory chips and 2 SSDs. Since I needed to reinstall windows, all the games I had required reinstallation, but so far I haven't bothered with GOG.

I hope someone there reads this rant (it has been building up fro a long time) and decide to do somthing about it. But I won't hold my breath. I expect that with every face lift I'll just try again to connect to Steam, and fail.
