You would think that actually delivering bought games would be THE core functionality of a games store app.
I bought Baldur's Gate 3 yesterday and almost 24h later I'm barely half way through the download because this thing just keeps getting stuck. I have to reset it every 30 to 60 minutes. I think I've done it like 15 times by now. I got error E9 a few times but usually it just keeps displaying "downloading" while there's zero activity. Why can't this client detect the problem and restart the connection or whatever it takes on it's own. It's so broken. It's the weekend and I can't play the game I paid for.

I have the same issue, but for 2 days already (: Today even resetting doesn't help.

I have the same problem. Also when the downloading stops, I can observe in the Task Manager that the GOG Galaxy process's energy utilization is very high.

Same. I went with GoG because I was sick of supporting Valve and Epic but at least they can deliver the products purchased. I remember when GoG had a simple interface where you would just download the DRM free file.
1 mb is very slow and BG3 servers are under heavy load... its not that shocking your network dropped the handshake a few times
