so, i've tested this for a bit and come to the conclusion that with the library on onedrive (or any other "cloud" drive) playnite can be used on multiple systems quite hassle free.

a functional library with working tags and even store integrations. cool.
I took the Launchbox route which works pretty well for me. I will probably download Playnite just to see the comparisons (I might even like it more).

Has anyone here used both, with reasons why the prefer one over the other?

i fired up launchbox only once, i guess it is targeting a different audience. as far as i saw it's thought to support people who collect physical copies of all kinds of games and emulators. big boxes and such, a digital tool to maintain your physical library so to say.

as i'm collecting digital only this is a bit besides of what i need. playnite focuses on digital launchers only, so i guess it's the only alternative to the usual store launchers.
