I got the mail. I was chosen. Yey.
I ask to be in the beta because It was said this client was planned for GNU/Linux.

I was going to download the client. But: “GOG GALAXY 2.0 requires Windows 8 or newer. Available also on Mac OS X.”

Seriously??? I only got one rig for gaming with Windows, its 7. Not worth the update just for this.

I hope this is only temporary for the close beta (I don't understand why if a GNU/Linux client is in development, because it is... isn't?)

There is two massive petitions for the GNU/Linux client, this is not going to be another huge disappointment to de GNU/Linux community, right?

I'll wait.
Windows 7 here - work fine

no, it is not in development and hardly we'll ever see galaxy client for Linux. it's not on their priority list and 1 year ago gog member who worked for Linux team said they have no such project and that's not planned in the near future.
There won't be any Linux app for us, look how many issues and feature requests gog have to process to fix/improve galaxy 2.0. there's no place for us on this festival :)
The Windows 8+ requirement is a lie, it works perfectly fine on Windows 7.

I'd imagine that they haven't tested it on Windows 7 and so aren't listing it as officially supported.

Very sad to hear about it. I really love GOG and CDPR, and their policy about DRM. I wish if they won't make a client at least reach to the community to get it done...

you must be missed all the discussion and rants about it when gog announced galaxy 2.0 or their twitter message where people started to ask about Linux but gog said no Linux port and not planned in the near future.

this thread has all ranting already, as well as gog reply about the topic.
