It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I think this would allow, in some use cases, for easier bookmarking or browsing without the need to add redundant information in the form of tags, allowing for a simpler, easier and cleaner user experience.

As an example: I consider all FromSoftware games to be similar enough to want them in the same view; however, this can't be done using the search bar because some of the games have completely different titles(I can't get Bloodborne, Sekiro and the Dark Souls games in the same search results), and obviously the default filtering options don't allow for such specific results. This meant that, to create a bookmark, I had to manually look up all the games developed by FromSoftware and add a custom tag to them in order to be able to filter them from the rest of my library.

My proposal stems from the fact that this kind of information is, usually, readily available in every game's metadata, which means that having to manually add tags that convey the same information is a pointless waste of the user's time. If there was, for example, a small configuration icon right next to the search bar allowing the user to select on the fly which fields(like title, developer, release date etc.) to scan for matches, I would have been able to perform the same operation with a couple clicks and a single short search query, without having to do pointless work by adding redundant information. Such a solution would probably require every view to remember its specific search configuration, but I believe it should be relatively easy after the introduction of the Atlas update.

PS: I've seen other people post feature requests in this forum so I did the same, but should I post this in the wishlist too?
yeah. searching by developer would be very useful.

Yes please. I wanted to add some collections based on publisher or year or a combo of both.
