Every time I try to run GOG Galaxy I'm getting this message:
"Connection to Communication Service was lost and could not be restored! GOG Galaxy will now shutdown."
What I noticed is that if I try to run GalaxyCommunication.exe and GalaxyUpdater.exe from C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists I'm getting a Windows popup saying:
"This app has been blocked by your system administrator
Contact your system administrator for more info."
This is the first time ever any software said this on my PC in past 5 years.

Would love to know if anyone else experience anything like that.

I was having the exact same issue, it was due to "CryptoPrevent" I opened Cryptoprevent, advanced, software restriction policy editor, browse for file, added Galaxycommunication.exe, add to whitelist, close windo, apply, restart, should work fine from there.

Me too, in my case it seems to correspond with Defender not starting when I start the PC.

Same here, hasn't worked properly in several weeks now.
Still the same issue after 2 months of few uninstalls.
Same thing 2 months later still happening. I was never able to use this client. Almost lost all my hope in this platform even working.

here the same, on both of MacBooks. WTH?
I'm also receiving this message right now, never had this issue before.
I just went through troubleshooting this error and from reading many threads about it, I think multiple scenarios can cause it.

In my case, the problem was that I was launching GOG Galaxy via RDP. When launching GOG via my Windows 10 laptop console, the error didn't occur.

Interestingly, if I launch GOG Galaxy via the console, then close it, and relaunch via RDP, the error doesn't occur....this behavior persists until a reboot.
I get same all the time, but I've found if you ignore the error (i.e. don't press ok, or click the close button on the dialogue box) and just bring Galaxy 2 to the front, the app keeps running with no issue
Same here, still no fix.
