Hello,

In July this year I updated my PC to Windows 10, this caused a number of issues that led to me rolling back to Windows 8.1 after about 20 days, this did not fix a lot of the problems created so I refreshed Windows about a week later which didn't help either. I had to fully reinstall Windows 8.1 in August but continued to have memory management bluescreens for some time afterwards that have seemed to disappear after resitting my RAM a couple of times.

Throughout this process I gave no thought to GOG Galaxy until I had Windows reinstalled from scratch, I kept GOG Galaxy and all my games on a separate drive, when starting GOG Galaxy nothing really happened, the mouse would change to show loading for a moment, then nothing would happen afterwards. It was only after checking Event Viewer that I got to see what the problem was (see Galaxy Crash Error and Galaxy Crash Information for what Event Viewer showed).

During this time I also decided to see if any issues were happening during installation, which led to finding out that I was getting a TLS Error whilst the installer was downloading the necessary files (see Installer TLS Error for all that Event Viewer says about it). I have tried disabling TLS Protocols to avoid the error, whilst this prevented the error it did not make Galaxy run. I have tried deleting the GOG Galaxy folder (but not my games, which were in a separate folder from where Galaxy was installed) and reinstalling, but I continue to get the same error as shown in the attached images every time I try to start GOG Galaxy 2.0. Any help in diagnosing issues or helping to fix these errors would be appreciated. I have also attached an image of my computer specs via Speccy.

Depending how you "kept" the client on a separate drive, you may have overlooked the fact that it installs quite a lot of stuff under the hidden C:\Programdata folder, so perhaps when you reinstalled Windows those files were lost?

Even if stuff in programdata was lost, surely if I'd deleted all the client files that were previously installed then that would count for a full reset? As it is, I did some more digging on the forums and it seems to be part of a greater issue where the latest version will not run on Windows 7/8/8.1 and downlodaing a prior version of GOG Galaxy 2.0 has worked. I just didn't know about this issue because I wasn't updating GOG Galaxy during the period mentioned in my post so reinstalling meant downloading the broken latest version. Thank you for replying though.
