It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

That's a misleading message...So is my account being hacked because I have no other account...This message should be changed.
In fact, I often forget to launch GG before launching a game, this will cause that I will not have MP or game online connectivity. After that I cannot launch GG without restarting my computer. This should be fixed.

[EDIT]
A workaround is here, it worked for me:

XenonS:
If the issue comes back again ("already running"), please hold on with using the workaround from support article again, and help us check the fix that we have on version 2.0.42 + send feedback in a response here.

The following link contains an updated GOG GALAXY version that will:
- Fix a bug where GOG GALAXY failed to launch, claiming it was already running on another account
- Fix a bug where GOG GALAXY failed to launch or update on Windows 8.1 and Windows 7
- Opt you into GOG GALAXY "public beta" updates

https://content-system.gog.com/open_link/download?path=/open/galaxy/client/2.0.42.21/setup_galaxy_BETA_2.0.42.21.exe

What that means is that you’ll be getting updates with the newest features and patches that we’ll be releasing to the users. You have the possibility to opt out by disabling this setting yourself in the app settings (“public beta” checkbox), however we recommend that you refrain from doing so until the next GOG GALAXY update, that will contain the fixes included in this patch.

I have a problem with a GOG client. It's not opening at all. After deleting it and installing again - still no response. Also when I want to install it again it says that the app is already running (that message is showing after deleting the file you have mentioned as well).
Also I have installed the client you provided (setup_galaxy_BETA_2.0.42.21) and still same problem. NO RESPONSE AT ALL. Could you please help me resolve this annoying issue?
Thanks.
Ran 4 different installs & uninstalls of versions, this problem is still unsolved. Same response.
Windows 8.1, running as Admin., if in compatibility mode it will do a fake run and .exe shuts off.

THAT solution doesn't work for me, I don't have any files in the Lock-File folder.
I don't have any files ending with .lock at all in the whole directory of GoG.

So if I wrote 2 tickets, should I expect an e-mail reply ???
