I am having problems with GOG Galaxy. Many games will not run properly while Galaxy is installed, e.g. Pathfinder. When I run the game I get the title screen and the game then exits. This happens regardless of whether I launch the game through Galaxy or using the exe in File Explorer. However, when I uninstall Galaxy the games run fine.

As such its a perfectly workable workaround, but the problem is when games receive updates, I don't get the update when Galaxy is not installed. To my limited knowledge, my only option seems to be to uninstall the game and install the new version. So I have a question as to whether anyone can help with either of these options:

1. Is there some easy workaround to get Galaxy to work properly? (I'm on Windows 10)
-or-
2. Is there another way to update games without Galaxy?

Thanks in advance for any help.

For this issue, I'd say you'd probably do best to contact GOG support as this sounds like something specific to your PC (probably related to settings/permissions). However, for your second question, you can update games via the offline installers found in the "Games" section under the menu that drops down when you hover over your name on the site's menu bar.

Just keep in mind that sometimes, the offline installers aren't updated as quickly as the version of the game present via Galaxy.
Thanks for the response. That second option you mentioned sounds like a perfectly good option until I manage to sort Galaxy out.
