It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Like the topic says, I don't seem to find the way to download the standalone installer thorough Galaxy 2.0. This is a major feature for many users, in Galaxy it was possible even if it required too many clicks, but now in 2.0 it seems it is gone.
At every release/update to GOG the ability for users to backup their own games is getting more and more restricted. Please fix that.
I don't think that's integrated yet into GOG Galaxy 2.0 and, to be honest, I don't see that feature too high up on their priority list. You'd have to do it through your browser. for now.

That said, try to keep this thread open (no 'spams' :) ) and requesting it as a feature!

EDIT: For example, 'wishlist' was missing for quite a while and they seem to be back on now!

This is the reason why I don't use Galaxy. Missing installer download support.

This is a key feature of GOG. That's what sets GOG apart from Steam. I do not understand why one does not better market its main advantages.

I find this limitation very annoying as well.

In addition the web installer creates a new executable (with a random path) on every run and for me they always fail to do anything as they are not allowed internet access without me allowing it. Luckily I'm able to find and copy the new executable to a permanent location and get around that annoying issue.

There is also another annoying issue with downloading the web installer from www . gog . com/galaxy. There is no download link unless the server things that you are running on Windows! It took me forever to realize that the web page was broken and to trick it into thinking that I was running Windows.

Bottom line, GOG needs to stop trying to hand hold people and just give us an all-in-one installer.

It's almost like it's still in beta and shouldn't be getting forced onto users like this...

...oh, right.
It's possible, but hidden.

Click the game, then "extras." You'll see an option for "Offline Backup Installers."

Of course, at least for me, Galaxy has a tendency to not download extras successfully so this might not actually go through for you, but the option is theoretically there.

It's usually better to just go through the website.
Folks, this thread and my reply to it were created a *a long time ago*. At the time, there still were no access to 'extras' or 'offline installers'. For the couple of posts above this one I quoted below... please, check the dates before replying, or I'll consider them trolling.

I also had the problem of GOG Galaxy 2.0 not being able to update because of random folder extraction.

To update manually on Windows go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\GalaxyInstaller_xxxX and find the file GalaxyInstaller.exe and run it manually. It will download the standalone installer in the same folder. Filename will be GalaxySetup.exe and it will be around 240MB.

No available standalone installer download is a total fail IMO.

It is available, but they don't advertise it:

How did you find this? Does everyone who wants an offline installer have to look for the links on the forums?
