Dears,
Since installing Baldur's Gate 3 month ago several updates were released and distributed via GOG Galaxy. More often than not the "update" is larger than 100 GB, so in actuality the launcher is downloading the whole game all over again. Right now it is downloading an "update" thats 122,89 GB in size, with a whopping 3.3 MB/s on average (~12 MB/s are possible). The machine is online almost every day, GOG Galaxy launches with windows, so no updates inbetween were missed. And please, for the love of god, don't tell me that all files need to be redownloaded because each single one of them got changed. That's bullshit, and you know it.
Installing the launcher, which is no doubt gathering data for you to sell and therefore profit from, is advertised by telling your customers that, to compensate for this, it should make one's life more convenient. How is wasting the precious little time I can spare for gaming making my life more convenient?
OK, so: Why? How? WTF? Any explanation and/or solution? Having the machine online for 15+ hours for an "update" every other week or so does actually cost money, you know?
Cheers,
Michael
