Has anyone come across this. My firewall is blocking the gog downloader even though i have set the it to allow this program to access the internet. Does the gog program use any other processes which need to be allowed access also ?

I am using Zonealarm and after allowing the gog downloader to access the internet it is working without a problem for me. Sorry to be of not much help, but at least it seems not to be a general problem with zonealarm.

It's not a major problem as i'm using a different anti-virus so i can disable zonealarm and use the windows firewall with that, just can't figure out why it's blocking it as i've allowed it full access.

Thanks. It doesn't appear to be a common problem so i will have to try a fresh install.

I've tried the new Zonealarm free version and I'm shocked.. that Smart Defense feature seems quite terrible..
Automatic sets almost all to allowed, whilst Personalized doesn't seem to work properly. Also why the permissions.. wtf..

Try to remove GoG Downloader from the firewall list and make ZA ask for it again (this fixed some problems for me).

I know, some of the new features are a mess.

Thanks, but i have already tried to remove it several times but when i start the gog downloader again it automatically adds it to the list without asking me and blocks it. No matter what i set it to it never asks or allows it permission.

Think it's time to try a different firewall program.

I set the Application Control to "Manuel" and it ask me for every program now which wants to access. Works quite fine for me, since that's why I choose the firewall... free and letting me handle every access manually.

Thanks. I've even tried the manual setting and it is still being blocked and not asking for permission, but i know it zonealarm causing the problem because when i turn it off and use windows firewall it connects fine. Think i will have to try a clean install and hope that solves it.

The fresh install worked. I set the app control to manual and it seems to be ok now. Thanks again.

I do believe ZoneAlarm is a steaming pile of doo doo. See above and get something good instead.
