Siannah: The "why" is the important part here and there has been several explanations on why Bethesda might feel forced to do so, one of the better ones you can find here.
Yeah, people really need to be blaming copyright law for that shit and not Bethesda. Same with the MMO, they set rules on the license and Interplay didn't meet the requirements. If that was unfair Interplay shouldn't have made the deal. I don't even see why they deserved another 2 million, Bethesda just gave in to avoid more lawyer costs I would guess.

Bethesda is not the bad guy here.
