Ghorpm: Terror from the Deep is my favorite from the series but let me admit - perhaps it's so because it was also the first one I ever played.

bazilisek: It was the first one I played as well, and I'm actually very fond of it myself (mostly for the underwater setting which is undoubtedly the best the series has to offer), but if you look at them as a whole package, the first game is simply better. It's not just about the crazy difficulty – the maps in TFTD are also way too huge to be really enjoyable (the alien bases are a major pain in the arse, for example; the crazy four-storey second stage still haunts me in my nightmares).

carnival73: Ah, so the OP DOES mean the SCUMM games.

Those were cool back when I was fourteen and only had a Commodore.
Now a days...enh.

bazilisek: He means the LucasArts adventure pack that can be bought on Steam, containing four games neither of which was ever released for the Commodore.
Ah I was thinking Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken.
These are similar however.
I've played The Dig and it's an awesome story.
I burnt myself out on them back in the nineties however.

That is actually a very strong argument. Indeed, the strongest as it can ever be! I was a teenager when I was playing X-COM and a total video game geek so it didn't bother me at all but now... now it does ;)
Lucas arts, obviously fellow... lucas artz...
wrong thread?

l0rdtr3k: I'm thinking about getting a pack on Steam.X-COM Complete Pack or Luca Arts Adventure Pack.which of these two pack should I get first.give me reasons why?

PS:and I'm going to buy a extra game.which is better,Civ III or X:Beyond the Frontier?
Go for the LucasFarts adventures, these are all classics and this I say as a big X-Com fan.
Point is the really good X-Com game is the first one, it gradually went downhill from there on.

As for X BTF vs. Civilization III, I would say Civilization III if you want value for your money, buy X BTF if you suffer from insomnia and want to see how not to make an Elite clone.
