Heh...I bought the boxed original long time ago, it was the most packed box in those days @_@ I think it weight like 2 kilos with all those books inside haha...
Anyway, I was almost at the end, lost my saves....restarted and right before the end I had to change my rig...I would really like to play the game again, its classic :/ and I still remember playing UFO 1 and 2 with my cousin together with characters with our names haha....during one of those mission mine got hurt and he had to use first aid on me all the time so I wouldn't die and loose my char xD good old times!
I have the Collectors Edition on CD, and dug it out yesterday to try and install on this Vista laptop. This is the only game my wife WANTS me to play, because she loves the music and sound effects.
For tech support and patches for the original XCom games, try www.xcomufo.com.
I'll let you know how well I get it running. Oh, and GoG guys? PLEASE get this game here, and patch the original 1.4 sounds into the Collector's edition! I'd LOVE to be able to put this on my Vista laptop without all the headaches I'm going to have to go through right now to get it running.
Cool, let me know how it goes. I just got a new Vista 64 laptop too, so I'll have to go through the same hassles.
This is a shameless bump of shameless proportions!

Can we just let this needlessly bumped 2 years dead thread rest in peace, please?
