orcishgamer: Nope, no prizes. I like the junkie reference, I don't hate WOW players but I do hate Blizzard and WOW.
I disliked Blizzard banning people from all access of any sort to Starcraft 2 and for this, but at the same time it's easy to see both sides and understand that they have invented a fucking goldmine with this thing and they want to twist the law to make it as beneficial as possible. Every company does that... it's one of the negatives of capitalism, a company's only job is to make more and more money.

I am sure there are many hard-working people within Blizzard who just want to make good games.

I would say that Blizzard have gone right downhill since WoW, but is that really true? Warcraft 2 was the only decent game in the series. It was very good, but one out of three isn't such a great success rate.

Starcraft was trounced by Total Annihilation a year before it was even released. Plus the whole 'let's casually rip off Games Workshop' was really getting old by then.

Diablo was also good. Diablo 2 was crap yet somehow very addictive crap... It seems many lessons were learned from that one.

Now of course you're left with a company whose only prerogative is farming cash. They were never at any point creative or original, but now they don't even pretend to be trying.

Navagon: Given WoW's nature it's not surprising that it has a legion of fans that are willing to defend it. But equally it's perplexing that they think they can. It's like a jumkie defending the character of their dealer.
I love WoW. I am more or less a "fanboi" of Blizzard. But if they did something wrong, they did something wrong, no denial in this. :)

Honestly, I don't care who wins this legal stuff. :) So far, they are one of the few developers who have never disappointed me. If they keep making great games, I'll keep buying them. Their legal department can burn in hell, for all I care. :D

Well it's not like they're going to suffer any major losses even if they did lose this case and ten more just like it.
This seems really appropriate.

Metro09: I'll still be getting Diablo 3 (Yes, and Torchlight 2).
Torchlight is done by Runic, which includes some of the original Diablo team. D3 will suck and lacks LAN play.

Blizzard acquired the company that became Blizzard North while Diablo was in development. Blizzard North was in SF while Blizz is based in Irvine. I don't give them credit at all for Diablo, other than being astute enough to pick up a promising IP at a time when there wasn't much like it out there.

Blizzard games have always been popular, which as you know, does not always mean good (Lady GaGa is popular).

I know about Runic's past and Torchlight was great. And I'm sure D3 will be fine. The lack of LAN isn't really important to me.
