Oh yeah, I read that, the replies, and I actually had read Blizzard's reply last night. I'm just saying I smell BS. I think they did something wrong and now they are in PR mode, which is entirely what I would expect from them. I still think Blizzard abused the law and this guy by what they did (as in, they actually broke the damned law) and I don't know why they expect us to uphold the law for their benefit when they treat people like this.

Also, the replies on Slashdot made me sick, so much fanboyism for Blizzard, yuck. MS and Apple would never get such a pass for behavior even half as bad (and I'm no Apple fan, though MS has shaped up considerably in the last 10 years).

Regarding your first paragraph yeah I think that's entirely possible! do blizzard have a reputation for that sort of thing?

/. Has the biggest fanbois in the world, no argument whatsoever!

Yeah, Blizzard hasn't been known for their tact in years and they've likewise been legally aggressive in ways that weren't always warranted or legal.

TheCheese33: However, Blizzard are flying him out to their headquarters so they can discuss the matter face-to-face. While it's not explicitly said, I think this screams "job offer".

Metro09: Actually it's an ambush -- they'll beat him with a sack of nickels.
What if they used soap instead?

GameRager: I think it's also due to legal crap....crap still, but some companies always put a disclaimer up that they can't solicit or accept user ideas(for free or pay) as there's all sorts of legal crap they'd have to roll through to do such....or so such sites with similar disclaimers state.
