Dear fellow members,
I'm willing to make a gift at GOG.com for a very good friend of mine but I'd like it to sort of be like a "gift coupon" if it's possible - I mean, my idea is to kind of give him a gift code or some such, e.g. for a $9.99 game, *but* let him choose the game he wants by himself. I know that I can gift specific games (so I can buy the gift code for a specific game and then gift it), but is it possible to somehow buy a coupon for any $9.99 game so that the person who is gifted can pick what he or she wants? I'm not keeping my hopes up but I'd like to know for sure...
I do not think that is an option, as I haven't seen actual gift cards. Your best bet for something like that would be gifting 9.99 via something like Paypal with a note attached "Use at GOG!!!"

Not right now.....you have to know what game he/she wants and buy that game's code....You could always ask him or her for a selection of title to choose from and pick one for them at random for surprise.
In these cases I'd just make a cool box with printed cardstock or something with the cover art (or other great art) from around 10 of the GOG games you think he'd pick. When he opens them tell him he can pick one or something else that suits him, then gift him that game.

Or you can dig up an old thumb drive and do a bit of programming that autoplays and shows a slideshow or similar, if doing the first idea is cost prohibitive.
Thanks a lot for the ideas, guys! :D
I appreciate your help!
Funny...I was just wondering about this earlier today.

Same here. About an hour before this thread was posted by the OP, I actually looked in the Support section of the site to see if there was actual cards. I figured it would a good way to make suggestions or ideas for what family members go gift to me for potential Christmas gifts (not that any of them would actually do such a thing), but unfortunately it wasn't an option.
Even if they were just generic $5.99 & $9.99 gift codes (rather than physical cards) good towards any purchase, I think it'd be a great way to introduce a non-GOGer to GOG.
You could also try and contact GOG support and see if they can make it happen.
If there was some kind of petition, I'd sign it.
It's a great idea, I'd love to give a coupon like that to a friend.
Guys, this has been on the list of "upcoming GOG features" since at least last Christmas (probably longer). There is no need for a petition or anything like that, the GOG devs have already said they want to do this and that they plan on doing it, they just have other more important things on their plate right now... at least that's what they said last Christmas, for all I know they could be working on making the gift card system right now.

Well they're a small cpmpany and maybe can't afford it or the time to implement it........I mean anyone can buy someone a visa/mastercard gift card with so much money on it(some go as low as 10 bucks I think) and just do an arts project on the card and m ake it gogified. :D

There are definitely ways around it to make it work as we want it to...give someone a $10 bill with the words "go to gog.com" written on it. ;-)

Btw, while you're here, could you check your GogPM?
