Epic win, I do declare.

oldschool: Doesn't seem to work correctly, good to see that the music hasn't changed, it's that crazy Nazi party song (Silly Nazi's). Thanks for the link.

edit: Apologies to any German that might possibly offended by my comment.

Ubivis: Why shall I be offended? I am german and I am no Nazi. So who cares?
German != Nazi

To be a Nazi is something with the mind, not you nationality. There are a lot of Nazis in America and Japan (and those are not German).
Agreed, hell im 4th generation German anyways, again it was meant to be a joke. Apologies to all that were offended. Also i didnt even mean to imply that any german was a nazi.

cogadh: I don't get it. Was this supposed to be funny or a game or both? Either way, it failed. The only thing it succeeded in doing was annoying me.
Get over yourself, it was meant to be a joke. When it was originally released they (the developers) took alot of shit, because of that tune... If you're annoyed i really dont care.

I guess it's not really 1D, but it's still pretty funny. Nice find.

Ralackk: Completed it, a little harder to dodge bullets in 1D though.
avatar
hedwards: If this really were 1D you should be able to shoot the bullets out of the air without any trouble.

Just sayin', also you'd be stuck in one location permanently.
No collision detection for bullets.

And why would you be stuck in one location?
Nice! Looks just like the top down views of the Call of Duty Levels :P

There's a quote from Einstein floating around that explains it perfectly, but I couldn't find it. But time is what allows us to reuse space, without time everything is static and a one dimensional dimension has not motion. One is incapable of shifting anything on either side of it and hence remains in place for all eternity.

A bit of addition to his quote, but it explains the reasoning perfectly.

yeah, ok, but by that reasoning 3D games should be 4D games. In gaming terminology, this game is 1D.

Gaming terminology is always kind of odd, because 3D games aren't really 3D at present, they're just a projection of a 3D world onto a 2D surface. Might be interesting to create a game where it's basically a FPS but there's a skill or something which allows you to change the projection so as to allow some, like, badass sniping opportunities.

It's not really a particularly important point, basically the reality we live in is considered to be a non-deterministic one with 3 dimensions of lengths and one of time, which means that there must be a minimum of 5 dimensions out there at any given time. We tend to reduce the 4th and 5th dimensions as much as possible down to a single point so as to grasp what's going on. Hence why people have more and more trouble dealing with things in the future, as they're having to cope with the action in both the 4th and 5th dimensions.
