It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I just bought witcher 2 a couple of days ago and it seems to be running quite slowly. Does anyone have any recommendations or ways for me to fix it? Also, I would give the specs but I'm not sure what to put down. If someone could tell me that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Can you post your specs? Basically your RAM, CPU speed, Graphics Card, etc. Here's an example:

Asus Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard
Intel i5 3570K (Ivy Bridge) 3.4 GHz
16GB RAM 1333 Mhz
Radeon HD 7970 3GB

Also what kind of slow? Lag? Low FPS?

2nd Gen Core i5,
Intel i5-2400 / 3.1 GHz
4 GB / 16 GB (max)Ram 1333mhz

Hopefully this is enough...

I guess lag because it seems that the game pauses sometimes. Also it take an long time to load from load up screens and such. The game just doesn't seem to run smoothly on the settings that I have on it. Hopefully this helps.
Thanks
That sounds like a harddrive issue or simply put, graphics lag. What is your graphics card? I don't recall the recommended but on the last link I sent you there's a good guy explaining everything in detail and how to optimize the game running. He recommends to meet the minimum requirements which you do on both RAM and CPU power.

If it's a harddrive issue I would assume you either has too little room on the drive and/or haven't defragged in a while, that would increase stuttering and affect the game quite a lot considering its size.

Start with some defragging in case that's needed and read the tweak guide.
You didn't list a GPU. Are you using Sandy Bridge integrated graphics? If so, there's nothing you can do, as Intel HD Graphics 3000 is pretty poor for games rendering.
Intel HD Graphics 2000 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 is that the GPU?

I think that's your problem right there. Quite frankly I'm surprised it even works with only some lag.
Is there away for me to play with graphic setting at all then?

Well your best bet would be to turn off everything you have running in the background(browser, antivirus, that kind of stuff,) decrease the graphic settings to minimum and if it works fine then, try slowly increasing them bit by bit, see where that gets you.
Sorry that was wrong my GPU is AMD Radeon HD 6450

Well... That's a bit better, still, you should do what I said a post above you anyway. It might help.
The guy on the tweak side I mentioned adds some advanced tweaking options about adding some lines in a config file, you could heavily reduce shadow quality and texture settings. The game will probably look a lot worse or barely noticed but I'm not sure if the performance increase will be enough.

Unless you have no other game my recommendation would be to wait, it's not like the game will disappear from here. ;)
Pretty much what Nirth_90 said, yeah. If you're worried and actually have The Witcher 2 from GOG, you can burn the game to a DVD or put on external drive or something like that to back it up.
