Recently got Windows 7. Tried installing some of the GOG games and some of them don't work that well with the new Games Explorer. I Installed Commandos 2+3 and it worked fine I got both the GOG custom icons and the Games Explorer recognized the games and added the covers. But when I tried to install Far Cry, Games Explorer recognized it fine and added cover, but instead of GOG custom cover I got a standard icon under the "no category" in Games Explorer and I was unable to hide or delete or do anything with that icon until I deinstalled the game.
My Far Cry was downloaded way before Win7 came out... was this fixed and I just need to redownload the game?

Yea, I get the same problem with FlatOut. :/
Did some registry tweaking and now the game doesn't register again in GE, only the installation file does. :/
I don't even use Games Explorer. In fact I don't think I've even seen it yet. I just modified the All Programs list to include a games list. Problem solved.
The GOG team hasn't updated all the installers for Win7 GE yet, all of them released after a certain date (I forget when) do support it though, some from before then are already updated and the rest will follow one at a time. You'll have to redownload the installers every now and then and see if it has changed.

I have the same exact problem. I can't start or delete these games and all installed with gog.com installer.

Unbelievable, its been almost a year. and STILL this minor bug is not fixed.
I'm not so sure that this is GoG's responsibility. They don't officially support Windows 7 yet, though I don't know whether the Vista Games Explorer works either. I find the Games Explorer to be generally poor. It doesn't work with the majority of games I buy, so I've never bothered to use it.

I stick to the old-fashioned Start Menu for launching games. The GoG directory is Start->All Programs->GOG.com.
Never paid much attention to it. Drop all GOG Games shortcuts into a Games\GOG folder off the Start Menu and they work fine. Never install to the GOG default either as this also tends to have issues - especially game saves.

Well, the best way to fix it now is to install your GOG, copy the files in some other folder and make a custom install script to make the game compatible with Games Explorer.

Not the best way, but it works, and you get high quality icons and everything. :) I'm trying to port my installation script in a free/open source setup making software, when I do that I'll post it on GOG.

And yea, I use that stuff too, you're not alone, lol.
