The questions says it all. I would love to be able to play Bungie's back catalog of games such as the Myth series. Is there any chance this will happen now?
It just means Activision will publish their new fancy IP, don't think it extends back all the way (besides the Marathon games are free anyway). Also, Take 2 owns the Myth franchise IIRC.
The deal is for a single IP only, Activision has no rights or access to any other Bungiee IPs. So no, that doesn't mean Activision can bring other bungie games here unless bungie itself decides so

Take Two have the rights for Myth video game series. There is a small chance only if GOG could persuade them to join the club.
I heard that Maraphon games could be obtained officially and for free for Mac OS starting year 2005.
Regarding the deal with Activision: Bungie will create a new game based on unique IP, Activision gets exclusive publishing rights for some period and that is all.
Bungie retains their independence.
Get Marathon (also Durandal and Infinity) for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux (through the open-source version of the engine: AlephOne).
Or if you for some particular reason want the original version for ancient Macs: The Trilogy Release.

Woohoo! Thanks for that!
I didn't know these were open source now! I have many fond memories of playing Marathon back in highschool computer science class when we were supposed to be coding lines of PASCAL.
i must be retarded because i can't get it to work :(

Are you talking about the original Trilogy release? or Aleph One? Installing Aleph One is as easy as dropping the AO executable in the Marathon Infinity/2/M1A1 directory.
Ugh, marathon was awful. Myth 1-3 on the other hand would be a pretty quick purchase

Sounds like you downloaded the original Marathon for Mac OS 9/Classic. You need to download M1A1, the fan-based conversion of Marathon to Aleph One.

Take Two Interactive now owns the rights to Oni. There were murmurs of an Oni 2 some time ago, but that's long dead, I imagine. It's a shame about Oni. It really was shaping up to be a revolutionary game but so many things got cut out; it wasn't necessarily a good game, just an unfinished game. I still wonder what happened to Bungie East for things to fail so spectacularly.
Agreed on Myth 1 and 2 being an instant purchase.

I thought the combat was awesome. (though the control scheme was a little difficult to learn). Back then it was the only game that made me feel I was actually able to pull off moves from a kung fu movie.
The level design sucked and was very dull. Ironic considering the one of the main pre-release hype points was that they'd employed REAL ARCHITECTS to design the levels.
But when you pulled off a move to swing around a bad guy and take out 4 others it rocked.
