Crassmaster: Uhhh...no. It doesn't use Steam if you didn't buy it from Steam. I bought the Black Edition on Gamersgate last year, and it used a different system (I'm pretty sure it was Solidshield).

So did they push out all the extra updates for the non-Steam versions? Looking at the description for the GamersGate version of Black, it specifically makes reference to Steam only features...

You mean the Titan pack and all of that stuff? That's in every version of UT3 Black now.
OH! Okay, do you mean the Steam achievements? I guess UT3 is one of the games that you can enter in to your Steam account even if you bought it elsewhere to unlock achievements.

Gamerkought: Funny thing is, UT3 retail didn't have DRM, so when I got UT3 Black on Steam, I merely downloaded the UT3 Black Retail patch, extracted it, swapped the Steam exe with the patch exe..... PROFIT!

I did decide to get the full Unreal Deal from STEAM, the offer is too good to give up ! Now if you are right, I will just download the retail patch and change the game exe from the retail patch to the exe in STEAM folder, and hopefully I get a full DRM free UTIII Black :) !

Just remember to set Steam to not update that game before you patch it. Otherwise it could effectively undo the changes.
/me cough

This may have been asked before or I may be overlooking something, but why is UTIII not here?
oh fsck, necropost

Btw. UT3 is probably not here beacause the multiplayer is based on steam?

Actually, MP is based on GameSpy. UT3 is sold on GG and other sites without the Steam requirement.
hmm... Gamersgate says "Other DRM", whatever that means...
I have the retail box version of UT3 and it only has the gamespy logo on the back.

You can register your key on steam and download it there, but its not required for the MP as far as I know.
Yeah i know UT2004 had it inside mostly, but no one missed UT2003??
