mshashankr: You may be right, but its still a gamble.

Let's see if GOG staff likes gambling. ;)
They do ;-P

mshashankr: And even using your logic, i know of only the Humble Bundle having sold more than a couple thousand bundles. Rest of them are not as popular, and many buyers actually are already on GOG too...

jamyskis: The Indie Royale regularly flogs over 20,000 units per bundle, every couple of weeks.

Even the Indie Gala gets in around 10,000-15,000.
Indie Gala keeps flogging the pants off their bundles all the time, buy 1 get x free and also helps they run one bundle right after another....makes Indie Royale and Humble much more impressive :)

Ouch. Touché.
The real reason is, as mentioned how does GOG benefit from this?

The only way would be new accounts created, and then they buy other stuff here. But the people that care about DRM free are either already here, or they would likely not want to bother creating an account here just to access another DRM free version of their game when they could just click a button to download it instead. The only people this would really appeal to are the collectors who just have to have everything on GOG and GOG alone, and they already have them here, and honestly those people should not be pandered to really.

The only way I could see it working is if the DRM free version was ONLY redeemable on GOG, which might get more accounts here. But that seems like kind of a shitty move, and if you ask me doesn't really fit the spirit of the site.

In the end it's just going to end up with GOG hosting downloads for very little profit.

I want more indie!

Well... I bought many games in others websites, but is very annoying search.

For this reason, Steam is better. Because It allows me to discover new indie games.

It's kind of funny. I don't mind Steam that much when it comes to bigger games I really want to play, but when it comes to small indie titles it usually gets a big fat 'NO' from me. I'm weird like that. ;)
More exposure for GOG is certainly a good thing so I'm very positive towards your intentions.

However I guess it comes down to what market strategy they want to apply.

GOG is already dirt cheap so for me personally it makes no difference. I would rather pay a bit more and have GOG around than get some very cheap games in a bundle.
