I'm waiting for a package that a friend in France sent to me. It has now taken two weeks and I still haven't received it. This is the second time this has happened; the first time it took almost a month for the envelope to arrive. Apparently the package is still in France going through multiple levels of postal bureaucracy.

What is wrong with La Poste? Is it that bad inside France too? Finland and France are both in the EU, so it's not like the package is being delayed in customs or something. If I buy something from the US and have them ship it here it never takes so long!

I'm a big fan of French history, culture and literature, but there's something seriously wrong with their postal service!

I hope they won't whip too many horses to death while transporting my package...

Heheheh!
Le sigh :P
Merde!
Well, my wife often wait for 1 month or more for her packages from Japan, and I often wait 1 week/10 days for packages from France.

Even if the package arrives in due time, the postman often leaves a card without checking if you're here or not and bring back your package to the central post office.

So... Yeah. La Poste sucks.

It's probably taking a long time because the package has to go through France's customs and then Finland's customs. Customs officers have to check every package. Yes, EU to EU packages still have to go through customs twice as if your friend sent you a package from China or the USA. :( And I'm sure around this time of the year, there are a shit load of packages they have to inspect because December is next month and next month is Christmas.

No lie. One of the UPS guys that comes through here does that. He didn't even make it to the door the one time. He stuck a "failed delivery" or whatever it's called notice on the first wall he found, some 10 feet from the door, and took off.

There will be a lot of compressions here and for the same reason, I will feel no sadness for these lazy assholes that cost people time. Not even one little attempt.

You think that is bad? In the USA, there have been USPS guys who just dump their mail in the trash and sleep all day in their trucks.
