Hi all, Not too active on the forums tbh but i do check them often to see whats happening.
Im quite bored and not installing a few games i brought yet till i get my hard drives.

So heres a read for you....

Im 17 (18 next month) and been a pc gamer since 2007 with a old 1.5ghz pc and integrated graphics and 256mb ram, My pc gaming started off with a random game and it was Fallout 2
When i was playing that, It was amazing looking at the industrial areas, Had a great levelling system and was great to explore, I spent hours of early mornings playing this it was so great and still is.

Playing other games on that computer was hard though and after a month my dad got another stick of 256mb ddr from his mate and he installed it so totalled 512 mb then
Yet a month after i purchased a £30 AGP Nvidia geforce 6200 and installed it myself :D
I could play battlefield 2 cod2 and other games, I had a lot more i could play and also got a 1gb stick of ddr myself so it had 1280mb ram, But that was pretty much all i could do with that computer it had reached its limit.

About 7 months later from that my mate was selling his pc dual core 2.7ghz dell thing with 2gb ram and i also disassembled a computer in that time so my information on computers grew a considerable amount, i put a 9800GT in there and got a new 4gb set of ram new case, Power supply and fans, heatsink ect... I could run most games on it including crysis at 30 frames 1280x1024 with motion blur off.

Now... More to the point of this story....

Im gaming now with my custom QX6800 4gb ram 5770 still gaming at 1280x1024 and played most pc games that are out, Sure theres some good ones, But they dont make them like they used to be where a developer would put is heart into making the game, but now days its all about how much money they can steal from us and its hard to find a actual storyline that takes more than 12 hours to beat, plus half of the games that have came out these days are console ports so they dont work well no matter what ever your system is and have limited controls and graphics options.

Now i have "Borrowed" My fair share of games, That i was gonna buy in the first place like arcanum planescape torment ToEE and baldurs gate, But what i would hate is installing them, patching them then using a no cd then trying to get the thing to work... It would take ages,

But what happened i was gonna buy arcanum from amazon when there was a GOG link to it... At first i was like O.o not only was it cheaper than amazon at only £3.85 (Converted) but no DRM... I was actually questioning myself how can they do that in this day and age.

I brought it obviously and my collection of games is currently at 30 including postal 2, Total annihilation, Age of wonders, and i have a lot more games to buy like i would love to get Betrayal at Krondor and the jagged alliance series soon im saving up for a number of games, All of these games though are what more games should be like, A 20+ hour story more reading :P more of a challenge and more of a finished game in total, I didnt hear about half of these games until 2009 at the earliest yet there games that get mentioned every time and praised.

Like quite a number of people still pirate those games, And i just have to look down on them after discovering this site It is a great relief to not have to do anything :P And your paying a really low price, I still have my backups of numbers of games which i need to shred.

Well thank you for reading, If you did, It is a long read but someone may find it interesting.
Welcome and enjoy your stay! :)
welcome and we hope you enjoy the games and community :)
Good man/woman/other! Glad to see someone else talking the honest but slightly more expensive route. Now whenever you see one of those quotes where someone claims that piracy is killing the industry you can smugly think "Well its not MY fault!"

I know I do

Lol, But the thing is that the way it works seems to be to kill one thing, Then make another thing live, If i didnt get arcanum for example, I would most likely not be here.

Like music too download whatever album, But yet you may be buying MP3 players speakers memory cards ect...
I used to be a pirate.

I find it really funny how it just seems to be so accepted by most of society. When I recently told my friends that I got rid of all my pirated stuff (movies, TV shows, music, etc) they actually thought I was crazy.

I just find it really odd how piracy is kind of an accepted form of stealing.

You're an ace guy, and we can become best friends. But before that, I have to ask you: do you like Die by the Sword?

Probably because of the mindset like "Everybody else is doing it, why can't I?" or "If you can't beat 'em, join them!". Piracy is also rampant on third world countries where the income of a typical citizen is way below the cost of living.

Anyway, been there, done that, and I ain't definitely doing it again. :)
