That's especially true because it's an entirely fictional substance.

Truly you have a dizzying intellect.

tinyE: Since when did socialism equate with political correctness?

Neo-Nazis call themselves socialist, how PC are they? :P
True, i made an exaggeration, should've been social democrats.

I prefer the term bleeding heart myself. :D

hedwards: Right now that's the case, but Europeans are catching up with us.
Yeah, I don't deny that. Only sayin' that the sole existence and access to fast food certainly isn't the cause of general obesity.
avatar
hedwards: I think the main difference is that Europeans generally have vacation time and time off from work and as such aren't as stressed and over worked.
avatar
AFnord: We do tend to get more vacation time, yes, but people are still stressed & overworked, to the degree where it is a common serious health issue.
Trust me, it's far worse here. Europeans don't typically get overworked to the degree that we do in the US. I've never had a job in the US where I got more than a week of vacation, and even then I couldn't afford to really do anything during that time off because the pay was such garbage.

I'm sure there are health problems from it anywhere in the world, but it's hard to find a place where the people work harder and more productively than the US. It's understandable for the 2nd and 3rd world for people to work harder, but in practice the difference doesn't seem to be as great as it should be.

Well, obviously, I was just pointing out that you guys might want to get on this before it becomes a problem. It's easier to solve these problems before they become an epidemic than after.

The pro-obesity lobby in the US has gotten out of hand.
