genuine question not trying to cause a row, i seriously wonder why, as steam just put the gothic games on sale but with gog's version having extras i'm torn.

also do gothic 1 and 2 work with win 7?

because they really have no reason to put in the extra effort?

Very easy answer : ROI

Steam makes 99.99% (completly random estimation but most probably very close to the true) of it's money by selling recent games why would they spend money to hunt bonus for some old games ?

Better to ask the question why the devs/publishers that put their games on Steam don't offer extras.

i'm asking about the exttras though not the game range, they have gothic 1 and 2 just like here but don't offer the bonuses, i want to know why to that
I see people answering as if Steam/Valve is the one looking for game, for some reason I'm pretty sure the developers go to Steam to sell their games and not the other way around.
And game developers really have no reason to add extra's to the digital download, they just want to sell their game via as many venues as possible.
GOG on the other hand does contact publishers/developers to negotiate releasing the game via their site. They need the extra's to pull in the customers, who often are people buying the games out of nostalgia. And more reasons of course, but basically I think it boils down to the fact that GOG has to negotiate with the publishers and the publishers negotiate with Steam/Valve, different business models.
That's my two cents anyway.

Forgot the "bonus" word in my phrase. I edited my post.
