It is a pretty good remake of the first MGS, but the changed style and aesthetics of the cut scenes rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. It's still worth it, but in my experience it's become a sought-after item that in general commands a pretty high price these days.

Twin Snakes is way easier than MG1 since it uses some of the improvements from MGS2 while not adjusting the game's difficulty or AI at all. It feels kind of unfair, haha.

The cutscenes are also extremely exagerated and over the top, but that fits MGS. I liked it.

raiden seems to be like a typical japanese manga guy with spiky "gay" type hair (no offense liked mgs2 but he's just not Solid Snake) + hes a bit too whiny sometimes...not sure about him in mgs 4 but heard hes grown up more haha

I dont hate him, time after the game hes a lot more bearable. About 70/80% of the hate was likely just everyone getting ready to play as snake and suddenly its not snake with zero indication beforehand.

actually, Ghost Babel is kinda sort of indirectly canon. It's hinted that it exists in universe as a VR training scenario if you completely clear the Special VR Mission mode, IIRC.
