wpegg: c'mon, it's more fun to post when you're drunk. Tell the whores to multitask, that's what iPads are for, they can also check your email / forum threads while performing.
I think Psyringe pretty much has it covered. Throw in some legal liabilities for potential failed negotiations for good measure if it is really something ongoing. Negotiations are like poker, never show your hands, you want the best deal you can get.

To drunk anyway.

Why GOG is keeping the games they signed under wraps is part of their (imo partially flawed) marketing. Sorry TET, but that was working brilliantly for exclusives GOG signed. Keeping games back that are available elsewhere has no benefit I can think of.

And now I'm done. If got a one legged dwarf and a goat here that won't take care of themselves.

Good night and good luck.

Psyringe: I believe that the GOG community might actually be mature enough to deal with disclosed info. Sure, we would have some of the "You lied! You betrayed us! You PROMISED!!1!1!" posts, but we would also have enough levelheaded, sensible people to keep those in check.
I wish that that were true. Don't you remember what happened during the EE and Fallout 1 giveaways? And then there was the ridiculous, baseless hysterics that broke out about the expansion packs for EA's releases.

I may have been desensitized by what I've seen elsewhere, but I indeed don't recall those events as as bad as you describe them.

Also: Does anybody know how to get rid of a rather disturbing mental image involving SimonG and a goat?

Easy, think of me, and a whale.

I just started having success by imagining Robert Kotick and an alligator, but thanks for the alternative. ;)
My guess is that they do not want to give the competitors any possible advantage. Also they don't want to reduce their chances of getting a contract in the slightest possible way. Probably non disclosure agreements are accepted right on the first day.

Probably they see their contacts already made as kind of an investment which needs to be guarded.

That LucasArts don't want to come here is obvious, because GOG states clearly that they want to have them. The reason why they don't want to come (price, DRM, rights, something else) is unknown and if it would be known it could be used by competitors as an advantage.

Also it would little help to improve the situation because it's between the right holders and GOG. Our task is only to buy the stuff afterwards. Although I am as curious as the next guy to know everything. It's frustrating.
