Roman5: Last time I checked, Arena and Daggerfall aren't exactly "very easy" to get running on modern systems
Gilou: It is actually when you use the executable downloadable via the links I posted earlier. It really is
DOSBox is incredibly pissy about running Arena and Daggerfall. The most recent version of Arena, while in its own right not entirely stable anyhow, will crash and cause DOSBox to throw exceptions because it does some really weird shit with the CPU.
As far as Daggerfall is concerned - DOSBox runs it satisfactorily, but no means perfectly. My eyes are firmly fixed on the in-development DaggerXL drop-in replacement engine which will, if and when it's finished, address all the emulation issues that DOSBox has and also allow a much smoother gameplay experience.
Would be better if Bethesda just released native 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the executables, but I would bet that the source code is long gone.
