Look, let's be fair about this. The promo details page pretty clearly stated that the Atari sale would end in a few days, and anyone looking at that page has no reason not to have understood this. However, the original announcement on the front page said nothing of the sort, stating only that the sale would run until January 3rd. A person who only read the announcement but not the details, intending to revisit the sale later, would not have assumed that the Atari deals were ending early.

I went to the details page, saw the Atari deadlines, and planned my purchases accordingly. You can argue that everyone should have done that right away, but I can see how it would happen that someone wouldn't. The original announcement should have been more explicit about the Atari situation.

Roman5: What else do people need? a giant flashing banner on the main page that says: "SALE ENDS IN XXX"?
Now that would be a surprise!

It also said the Tex Murphy series would be on sale, but Tex Murphy 1+2 aren't on sale.. the announcement is simply filled with LIES.

let's be fair. That they partially re-opened the sale is a good gesture, isn't it ?

bladejc: Why did all the dungeons and dragons games get removed from sale? Was hoping to get second baldur's gate on sale since I just bought and beat the first one. =[ I still might get it because the first one was fantastic.
Must have something to do with the Hasbro licence

Roman5: "SALE ENDS IN XXX"?
This was added to the home page.

Roman5: What is up with all these threads about this?

It was clearly written on the sale page that that Atari catalogue sale ends in XXX ammount of days, am I missing something here? why are so many morons whining?

Are people retarded or something?
Thank you. Glad to see I'm not the only one a little annoyed with some of this stupidity. GOG went to the effort of making the damn holiday page. The least people could do is actually look at it. I don't know why they would sit on their hands, with a dopey smile on their face and an overpowering spirit of procrastination, just leaving the offer to expire. If they wanted the games as badly as they claimed to, they'd have bought it days before the sale ended.
For all those of you who have been rude.....I had no idea the sale was ending because I did not log back into gog till after I beat BG. The only end of sale day I saw the first time I logged in was in Jan. A good idea was be to have a list of all sale end dates on the front page, so as to give people who do not log on everyday a better notice. If you are annoyed or angry about this post, use your ungodly amount of intelligence you claim to have and do not read these posts. Thank you to those of you who answered my question with politeness and respect.
The Activision sale end date is now stated on the front page.

FlintlockJazz: Actually it does still have a disc check. I also hear that it wasn't available everywhere I believe, I think it was mainly a European thing.
I consider a disc check to be copy protection, not DRM. There is a difference to me, DRM meaning the company manages access after the purchase, which I don't think applies very much/well to a disc check.

Well, this is different from knowing about the sale and ignoring it. If you don't ever visit GOG or check your email (provided you opt to receive alerts from GOG), then it's totally impossible to ever know about any sales. No exactly wise by any means, but not nearly as stupid as knowing about a sale, wanting the items on sale, and just waiting for the sale to end without so much as reading the promotional page, and ignoring any forum topics with titles like "The Atari sale ends today!".
