Have to give it to Churchill, as he did it in real life. Hitler had a chance, ceased to totally commit for whatever reason, and Churchill was drinking brandy 10 years later.
Edit: Dumb american here, but I think Hitler actually liked/respected the British people. His act of not destroying the forces at Dunkirk, when he easily could have done so, re-enforces this belief. Perhaps he counted on the UK to negotiate a peace, as they had earlier in the annexations, but the UK honored their word and declared war. Sad, but I can see legitimate reasons, for both sides, to have made this necessary.
