Ralackk: Whats wrong with the VGA remakes? The first game in VGA is probably one of my favourites.
There's nothing wrong with the VGA remakes.

My point was to be amusing, and it seems I failed.

I'll never get into Clown College at this rate!
I think you have an answer to your question. I started with Land of the Lounge Lizards - I was about 10 (if that). Dad didn't realise the tenacity of a young child to learn the answers to the questions, and try enough times to get into the game. I'm not sure who I did actually grade as "Sexy", but it was the answer often enough that it got me into the game.

You've got to start there. If you're hoping to experience a game grow and become incredible, you're in for a disappointment. I played 1, then 2 most of the way. They were fun even back as a young'un. I've heard the new ones are utter rubbish.
Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust

I'm kidding, seriously! STAY THE FUCK AWAY

Wraith: Also, based on an OLD issue of InterAction, supposedly, at one time there was a video file called lsl.avi or lsl7.avi that contained some very graphic material that had never been intended for public viewing. I have NEVER seen this video, and don't even know if any copies still exist of it.
Are you talking about the .avi of Larry's acid trip? That one is over here...

No, that's not it. This wasn't part of the game, it was a dirty file they made for personal use that got leaked to the web via various methods.

UPDATE!

I emailed Al Lowe himself to find out about it. Here's what he said.

If you got all 32 "Where's Dildo?"'s and you got all the points in the game, you got to see a 5-second video of Larry and Capt. Thygh having naked cartoon sex. It's in every version of the game; find a site that tells you how to view the videos and you will find it. I don't have a copy myself but I'm sure they're out there.

Seriously, play them back to back starting with the first one. I still remember trying to finish the first one and feeling enormous satisfaction in completing it!

The first one isn't that long - if you have a sound idea of how to play text adventures it shouldn't take you more than a couple hours, a day MAX. Then they start to get longer and longer, so yeah, do the first one. :)

(It's also awesome to see his vision of LSL evolve and expand through the series.)
In cases like this my rule always says: start from the beginning :-P

QFT, especially with story/plot driven series. If it was just another FPS or something, well, sure, go for the latest, but with this... Nah, first ones first.
Enough have been said, but here is my 2 cents. I always do it from the beggining. There are jokes that are references to the previous games and without knowing them you will lose them. Of course, skip the adult protection via ctrl x, c or v (i forgot which).

And if you cannot start in order, i would start with LSL4 the case of the missing floppies (i have it in 5 1/4 discs. ;)
Start from the beginning but stop after Love for Sail.

Magna Cum Laude and Box Office Bust are horrible.

Also, here's Al Lowe's opinion of MCL (06:55 onwards)
