I found Frozen Synapse a nice concept that was poorly executed. The tutorial is hopeless and doesn't really prepare you for what's coming. Your guys can get killed by an enemy sighting through three doors and over four low walls as long as there is a pixel-wide line connecting the two points. It's incredibly frustrating and not a lot of fun.

Are you serious? There are tons of steam games you can play! Obviously all the classic releases like X-com. Just about any adventure game. A number of the hardcore strategy games (see Paradox's list for a few). etc. etc. etc.
