Masklin2: Not me I'm a cardiologically conscious and aware citizen from Sweden, and my mom says smoking is bad so I don't smoke. My grandma says that makes me a good boy.

Licurg: GOG is a subsidiary, not a sister-company.
avatar
pocojawrocilem: I read the legal papers and they are termed "sister company" in them.
They are both wholly owned by the same "holding company" that has a name confusingly similar to CDPR.

Licurg: Wikipedia says "wholly owned subsidiary". If they're wrong, so am i:P
Wikipedia is actually wrong on this one, no one here has ever tried to make the edit... well, because fuck Wikipedia's editorial process. GOG and CDPR have too much class to edit their own page.

Why is it CDPR and not CDP?
Logically the acronym should be CDP.
Also, CDPR is the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.

CD Projekt Red == CDPR, they made The Witcher 2. I know there was CDP and I no longer can keep straight what entity, if any, still has that name. Suffice it to say, there's GOG and CDPR who are both owned by a parent company (likely for tax or other legal purposes).

orcishgamer: GOG is a sister company, this is effectively CDPR's own digital store, they get 100% minus the overhead costs of getting the game to you. No publishers or retail outlets get a cut. If GOG gets a "cut" for whatever financial reason you can rest assured all the money stays in the hands of essentially the same company.
Aight, cool. That's all I need.

Big thanks!
