I was considering pre-ordering Pillars of Eternity, but wondered if GoG charges you for pre-orders up front or if the charge is not processed until the game is released.

I have searched the site's FAQs and the forum, but have not found an answer. I am guessing that it would be an immediate charge, but I prefer to know for sure before I actually place the order.
