I have been advised to hold off on upgrading from Deneb to Thuban since the Bulldozer chips are due to arrive shortly (more specifically, the Zambezi branch, designed for desktop use). In light of this information, I thought it best to ask about motherboards which support the Bulldozer family.

As far as I know, the Zambezi chips are designed for the AM3+ socket. I was originally going to upgrade to an ASUS Sabretooth 990FX, since it says it natively supports AM3+ chips. Whether or not this means it natively supports Bulldozer is not known. Not to me, anyway.

Does anyone know if there are going to be a slew of mobos released along with the Bulldozer chips, or if it would be fine to go ahead and upgrade to a 990FX-based board right now?

Another issue that may or may not come up is the socket design itself, which may or may not present a problem when installing my current cooling solution (Corsair Hydro H80). Is it the same bracket design as the AM2/AM3 sockets before it?

Yes, AM3+ motherboards will support the Bulldozer CPU. The Asus M5A87 is a good example at a reasonable price.
What about limitations of the chip itself? Any counter-intuitive stuff, like the Deneb's inability to take full advantage of DDR3 clocked at 1600MHz? That was something that took me by surprise, and I'd like to be more prepared for something like that.
