It's been on the 'coming soon' list for months now. Has there been trouble getting it to work on modern systems? Obviously I don't want GOG to rush anything, but it's a title I've been looking forward to and the waiting is kinda killing me :P.
They're keeping us distracted so we'll be surprised to death by LucasArts' arrival.
Only GOG employees know for sure. But my guess is that there are problems getting the expansion to work on modern systems.
If i recall correctly they're having issues to get Carmageddon working on all of their test PCs. They don't release a game unless it works on all the PCs they have.
How come there's no Dosbox equivalent for Win 95 games? Something like a light-weight VM Machine or so?

I've got both carmageddon and splat pack running on my system, in 3dfx. not so difficult when you use dosbox. The only thing is the windows binaries of 3dfx version doesn't really run that well, so I stick to the dos version
You could get Glide Wrapper Glidos I have run it throught dosbox or Vdos It looks swell

Maybe it is to difficult to program? Or maybe MS is not allowing some of their code to be distributed freely?

Hmmm...after partnership with Zeus Software it is more likely that they will use nGlide. It is also very likely that they will not bother with Glide and will release Carmageddon with software renderer only.

They could use one of the glide-Dosbox ports

GOG still has to remove ...

You know, this joke is getting old. Probably released soon.
It's proved surprisingly resistant to the usual fixes; honestly, the "September" release window was something that seemed so very long to fix that I was quite confident when I promised that the game would be available then we'd be releasing it months earlier.

Coala, our head of Product, warned me that pride goeth before the fall. :P

We have a build that--after much expense of effort and time--seems promising, and we hope we'll have all of the testing (across all of the test beds) done in the next few weeks.

For those of you who wonder about how long it takes to get an old game running on modern systems, consider that while this is more effort than we usually expend on a game, it's not an unprecedented effort. Remastering old games takes time, so even if we do have several dozen classic games that we have signed but not yet released, you can imagine that polishing everything up for release as best we can will take some time.

There is, it is called virtualization of XP. :p
