Not sure if this is where I'm supposed to post this, but here goes:

About two days ago I purchased Far Cry, seemingly managed to download all of it off of the GOG Downloader, and my desktop shows two .bin set up files for the game (part 1 and part 2). I read on the site FAQ that larger games are apparently supposed to be separated like this, but the problem is I've had no prior experience with .bin files. Just clicking them has a message pop up saying that Windows couldn't find the program necessary to open them (I have a Win 7 64-bit OS, if that helps).

I tried looking up what to do online, but got differing "solutions" so I didn't want to take any chances (one of them said that I have to burn the files onto a disk. I thought GOG games could run self-sufficiently straight from the computer?). I also tried contacting GOG for support almost two days ago, but so far at least they haven't responded.

In short, can someone please walk me through what to do next with these .bin files and how to finish installing the game? I'd really appreciate the help.

I apologize if I seem impatient (not waiting a longer while to hear back from GOG), or if the answer to my question seems obvious, but I'm just nervous since this is my first purchase/download off of GOG and want to make sure that I didn't just waste $7.00.

The bin files are used by the installer executable. They are basically disk images containing the install data. You should have a third "Setup.exe" type file that you run to install the game.
Shoot. I...may have deleted that.

Story is, I first tried downloading the files manually (dling in parts using the browser), but when I tried to access those files I believe a message came up saying they were corrupted or something. When I resorted to using the GOG downloader instead, I deleted a file or two that in the midst of the dl that I thought were those corrupted ones, but in retrospect, I think one of them might have been the setup.exe that you're talking about now.

So do I delete both of the .bin files I have now so I can redownload them and see if the .exe comes alongside?

No, just re-download the .exe using the browser, copy it where the .bin files are located and it should work.
Okay, managed to re-download the .exe setup file (feel pretty stupid for having accidentally deleted it), and after accessing it seems to be in the midst of installing the game now. Looks like it'll take a while though, so I'll update once it finishes.

Thanks for the help so far, guys.
Download every file. Put in same folder. Run the setup.

Easy.
The game seems to have installed fine. Did a brief playthrough of the first part and everything seems to be working.

Thanks, guys!
