JCD-Bionicman: So I got a 30 dollar gift card for trading in a bunch of games (skyrim was only worth 9 dollars... should have done it sooner).
I was thinking about Dragons Dogma but then I hesitated.
What I want to know is, how long will this game last me and is it worth a whole 60 bucks?
Are some of the flaws like lack of fast travel as bad as I've heard?
My second choice would have been the Ico collection but the game was discontinued I guess.
I would have logged about 300 hours playing it across 4 characters. It has the main game, then post game (for loot whores), where you have a bunch of dungeons with bosses, then you can end the game with a final boss battle, then you can do infinite New Game Pluses, level cap is 200, you should finish the game about Lv 45.
Initially the lack of fast travel can be annoying as the map looks huge, but in fact it isnt, so fast travel would kinda ruin it tbh, you may not think this on the first playthrough, but you will realise it later.
In NG+ you can buy port crystals and place them around the map, this can be handy for later speed runs and escort quests. But in the first game you are limited to one, but you only need to use it twice really.
Is it worth 60 bucks? Great combat, longevity via NG+ and different characters/playstyles? 60 bucks is cheap compared to some of the completion times on games nowadays.
