I've just been offered the following for £5 each - anyone got any recommendations from this lot?

James Bond: Quantum of Solace (12)
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (15)
Fifa 09 (3 +)
G-Force (7 +)
Tom clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (16 +)
Grand Theft auto IV (18)
Battlefield Bad Company (16 +)
Lego Indiana Jones the Original Adventures AND Kung Fu Panda (in one box) (PG)
If Bad Company 2 is anything to go by, then the first one is a must.

Vegas isn't at all bad. At least it does actually have some small trace of AI in that one. The prequels certainly didn't. I quite enjoyed it. Especially the terrorist hunts.

Quantum of Solace is kinda short and very linear. But other than that it's not bad considering it's licensed. Personally I didn't spend anything like as much on it. But then I bought it for PC.

GTA VI is very meh. But the console versions are supposed to be a lot better. So who knows?

Thanks. I think GTA IV is the only definite purchase since it's supposed to be one of the greatest console games of all time (allegedly).

I'm on the fence about Operation Flashpoint and Bad Company since I don't really know alot about either game.

Quantum of Solace, Fifa 09 (two years out of date!) and Rainbow Six are available brand new for less elsewhere.
Hmm, GTA4 is probably the longest lasting game as well as possibly the best, it's rather different (I was going to say more realistic but its still GTA...).

OFP Dragon Rising is good IF you're a hardcore OFP fan and are willing to overlook some stupid flaws. It still feels mostly like OFP but its not as good as it's predecessor.

Rainbow Six Vegas is a great game if you like the more tactical style of shooter. Its nothing near as hardcore as the old Rainbow Six games but if you play on hard you still have to take care lest you get your arse handed to you.

Well, according to review sites. But they also gave the PC version a score in the 90s. So I don't think I would be inclined to trust them. I'd have said the PC version was more in the 65 - 75 bracket myself. Maybe less when you take the DRM into account.
I loved the PC version of GTA4... great game. As long as one's rig can run it I would suggest it without question.

On topic: most of those I would buy on PC of course, but if you have not played R6: Vegas yet I highly recommend it if you like shooters. It's not the tactical sim the older ones were, but it's a great, great shooter.

True but it's not a brainless shooter, you still have to (or at least benefit from) using proper tactics when engaging and room breaching
If I were you and since I have played most of them I would say get the following:

TC's R6V. Excellent game for what it is. I played through the game storyline several times and it also has a skirmish mode, how cool is that! The sequel is good too and has some good refinements, but IMO, the first Vegas is the most fun. If you like FPS games, you should like it. I know it is still my favourite FPS of modern times, which says a lot for me.

GTAIV is definitely a good game and well worth 5 pounds. It's not my favourite game or anything, but it is hard to see how one could feel bad about buying it for a fiver.

(I miss the UK a lot)

Battlefield Bad Company (the first one I presume), is a good shooter and again, worth the £5. The terrain destruction is not as extensive as the sequel, but the game is still very fun to play and one of the very very few games I don't find the voiceovers annoying. They are even funny.

If you are not going to buy the latest version of Lego Indiana Jones, then the original ADventures is a good game to get. It does become better if you really enjoy Indiana Jones, but in general it is a fine game and as with all the Lego games of the last few years, they are solid entertainment, if you like this type of games.

I am still waiting for a Lego Star Trek game.

Regarding G-Force....there was a G-Force game in the 90's on the PC. Is it the same? If yes, then it is a good game, but it probably isn't the same one.

I imagine it's the tie-in to the Disney movie with the hamsters!

Maybe on hard mode, or come to think of it maybe with analog aiming... I could just do that game run n' gun style though, it was pretty simple.
It's already pretty clear, but GTAIV and Bad Company are awesome. Bad Company really ups the intensity of multiplayer games. My brother made a montage of 2 footage, which I think illustrates many of the things that make 1 a great game as well.
