I think there is a difference between having a contrary or unpopular opinion to the rest of the group and being a troll. I think that trolling is where you just say things with the goal of making people angry or upset, not actually prove a point.

I consider the internet an art form, and all of us are playing roles. The internet isn't real, all these convictions over Amanda Todd comments illustrate the importance of understanding this. Interacting with others online is completely different than in real life. Many of my biggest "fans" would likely be very, very shocked if they met the person behind the keyboard.
It's all theater, everything.
