This is a moral question for people to think about

If a service gives you a free game for example
EA gave away Dead Space
Valve Gave away Left 4 Dead

Since the game was given to you free by the company itself, would you say it's alright to make the game DRM free by using a crack?
Since these games are still owned by their respective copyright holders, they own the rights to selling them at whatever prices they choose. A promotional event in which someone could receive a copy at a reduced price or free offer does not give them any justification to redistribute the game or remove the control mechanism that allows the copyright holder to retain control of his or her product.

I'm not saying I'm for DRM, but it is a fact of life. Even non-DRM products have limitations on what a consumer/user can do with them.

As for morality, if someone gave you a key to their home for free or for some monetary consideration, I don't think morally you should make copies of the house key and allow others to join you in living there. OK, not a perfect analogy, but the best I'm willing to think up right now.
It's OK regardless.

No EULA in the world overrides your inalienable right to do as you please with your own property.
Regardless of the product, I can say morally, because the product is now my personally owned possession, I will do with it as I wish for my own purposes. But I will not in any way make copies of it to distribute to anyone else.
I'm just curious on people's takes on things like this, how they think and if they're being consistent with the rules they apply is all.

Because when people say things like this:

ChaunceyK: Regardless of the product, I can say morally, because the product is now my personally owned possession, I will do with it as I wish for my own purposes.
I always rebuttal with this: (Omitting the redistribution aspect)
Then you also have to apply what you said to every game you own no matter where you got it from.

"morally"?
This is gaming we are talking about right? XD
Personally I wouldn't do it. That would be like someone invited my for a cup of tea and I went straight to his bathroom, took a long bath in his tube, used his towel, wore his bathrobe, took some food from his fridge, ate it and took a nap in his bed in the end.
In short, that would be taking advantage of his hospitality :)
If I'm too tempted to do this, I would simply refuse the invitation.
