Now bear with me folks, I might not have given this too much thought but the idea popped up nonetheless.

GOG and Humble (bundle) as per my understanding stand for many of the same things: DRM free, cross platform, interesting and celebrated games catalogue, addition of goodies such as soundtracks, attractive price points etc. etc.

Now obviously the business model is very, very different and there are other differences as well such as Humble often offering steam keys with their purchases along with an emphasis on donations to charity.

Anyway, how feasible do you all see Humble and GOG teaming up to offer those bundles? Perhaps GOG could buy off Humble and even sell bundles of GOG games as well. Also, this could tie in well with offering developers the option to use the Humble Store which could be tied with the customer's GOG account. I think the humble store is fantastic and it would really benefit developers and customers for all types of games.

Thoughts? Apologies if this has already been discussed.
I'm not sure where you get the multi-platform from. GOG doesn't have anything of that, the only thing they support is Windows (granted, three releases of the OS so far, but still).

Instead, they've stated that they don't have the resources to do any multiplatform work, but Mac and Linux would probably be interesting some time in the future. Despite the fact that DOSBox and ScummVM exists for all three platforms, and Wine likely being fine for the rest, selling the games for those platforms would require more negotiations with the rights holders (and perhaps with external developers that may hold the rights to native ports, in the cases that such exists).

So, no, I doubt that any teaming up between then will happen any time soon, at least not on the multiplatform front.

On the other hant, the Humble team do have the humble store, where some games do not have versions for all three platforms, it's only the bundles themselves that are guaranteed that treatment.
Maybe GOG could make their own "Good Old Bundle" promotion instead ?
..... it would be awesome.

(and probably a damned good way for GOG to roll out Linux and Mac support)

granted it wouldn't work with the older "classic" GOG games, but I see no reson why GOG would have to offer cross platform titles for -all- of it's releases.

not like the Independent titles they sell are run in Dosbox (I think), why the hell not just offer up the linux versions for games with linux versions to offer?
