I was just remembering today a game I played years ago, I remember few details about it except one section where you are a dog or wolf, and have to track someone via scent. This showed up as a cloudy line that you had to follow through a town.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Or is it a mechanic that has been used more than once?

Only one I can remember is Gabriel Knight 2 where a section where you play a wolf.
Sounds like Dog's Life by Frontier on the PS2.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but I think there were others. Trouble is, I can't for the life of me remember what others there are.

I think you may have nailed it Haydenaurian
I think I am thinking of a weird mix of a few games but Twilight Princess is the main one... thanks.

I feel a bit of a tool now!
I also remember something like that in Discworld: Noir.

Unless you've already figured it out like your last post suggests. It's nice to know for future reference I suppose...
I did play Discword Noir... that's what I mean by a "weird mix of a few games"... the Twilight Princess was the most recent I played, I know there was a dog/wolf section in DWN but don't recall if I ever got that far!
