Basically what the topic subject is. When I was installing The Witcher 2 and accepting the EULA and everything, I noticed that there was something called file integrity check. I'd just like to know what it does and how it affects me.

It does exactly what's telling you. It's checking files to their integrity. That means if every file is okay and complete. Every single file has a MD5 hash that identify a file. It's like putting your first name, surname, birthday, birth place and fingerpint into on large number by that you can be identified.

It is possible that an installer is compromised whether by virus, broken download, different download source than GOG or by another program. If any file is change or altered in the slightest way, the MD5 hash is a different one. A different one, the installer might not expect so it gives you an error.

No, it uses your webcam, microphone, mouse, and keyboard to see what you do, say, and write and then checks whether anything of it has been posted online in violation of your personal integrity, it also saves the recorded data for at least ten to fifteen years to keep track if it gets posted online in the future - everything to keep your personal integrity secure, of course.

Indeed it is. They did that during a job interview to me once. There was a box covered in question marks on the table, the interviewer left the room and told me not to open it under any circumstances. Of course I couldn't resist and confetti shot in my face. The guy came back, saw the confetti everywhere, said "you opened the box, I see", and I replied "no I didn't", spitting confetti as I said it and with my hands still firmly holding the box' cover. They liked that I opened the box, they took it as a sign that I'm a guy who takes initiative, but they didn't like that I lied.

It can sound like DRM, but it's not.

It does check integrity, but not yours, only of your files. Corrupt files should be discarded since they are bad and broken. Just like any corrupt person. Of course, our society doesn't use words like "discarded".

True, they use the much more personal "dispose of".
