dan30b: Just out of interest, what made you put Broken Sword 4 and not 3?

My favourite adventure games are the first two Broken Swords. They had such great and memorable characters.

Terpor: Let's see, clunky controls and there wasn't any option to change the button layout and the game refused to work with gamepads.
Admittedly the control didn't work great. The story however I think was better than 4. I didn't much like the randomly meeting Nico on a rooftop nor did I like the ending. I also found the puzzles generally better than 4 (Except the box puzzles of course).

Another problem I had was bugs I've tried the game on a few different computers and have been unable to get a stable play through. How did it play for you?

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying 3 was a masterpiece, I don't think either 3 or 4 came close to 1 and 2.

PimPamPet: In no particular order. All of these are games I love to revisit on occasion.

Blade Runner: The Game
Similar to the above, big fan of the movie, disappointed you couldn't play as Deckard, but still a pretty darn good game that looks and feels a lot like the movie.
I actually think it worked out better that you didn't play as Deckard and that they created this whole new story within.
Day of the Tentacle

Also quite good were
Monkey Island 1-3
Myst (all parts except URU)
Broken Sword 1-3 (4 is still in my shelf to play)
Runaway 1+2 (3 is still waiting to be played)
Indiana Jones
Legends of Kyrandia 3

The Indiana Jones games are on sale on Steam. Are they any good? :)

Last Crusade is one of the best adventure games ever.

Atlantis is one of the worst, BUT for some reason everybody considers it as even better than Crusade, and sees it as one of the best adventure games ever so, well... I guess it is enjoyable to most people.

I'd advise to disregard my critics and grab both.

Oh is that Sierra? I haven't actually played it (yet, I will!).

I mean the Sierra On-line games; all the Quest games. Terrible examples of adventure game design.

Yes completely disregard what he said. Fate of Atlantis is possibly one of the best adventure games ever while last crusade has is its momemnts but has a lot of poor design choices also.
This list will be in no particular order, and some of which I sadly don't have anymore:

Day of the Tentacle
Full Throttle
Grim Fandango
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Simon the Sorcerer *
Simon the Sorcerer 2*
The Longest Journey
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey*
Space Quest 1-6 + the fan games
Journeyman Project 1-3 (though I want to get the GOG version of 2)
Gemini Rue*
Blackwell 1-4
Resonance (I am not very far into it but I am liking it a lot)
Discworld
Discworld Noir*
Myst/Riven 1-5 (sadly have only Myst and Riven these days)
7th Guest/11th Hour
Beneath a Steel Sky
Fahrenheit
Gabriel Knight 1-3
Tex Murphy 1-5 (UaKM was the first one I ever actually owned)
The Whispered World
Zork Anthology/Zork FMVs (don't have Nemesis or RTZ anymore sadly)
The Dig
Yoda Stories
Quest for Glory 1-5*
The Cyberplasm Formula
The Magic Death
Braindead 13
Dragon's Lair*
Virtual Corporation
Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers (fastly impressing me, so worth note)
