It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

HiPhish: - GOG: But look at all the downloads!

- Publisher: Where's the money? Show me the money!

Yeah, makes perfect sense to me.
Maybe a sub-site of GoG that is more concentrated on compiling freeware and free games and just making it convenient for the users to download or find them? I wouldn't mind that...

But yeah if you're going to add free titles, they have to be either really good. Although Castle of the winds is good in my opinion, it probably wouldn't make the cut and would take up more space than needed, especially with the slow shelf/javascript configuring the site currently uses.

DCT: unless the copyright has expired
Copyright no longer expires in the US. Lifetime+70 years is way too long; And it's likely Disney will push to extend it another 20 years when Micky Mouse is threatened to once again go into the public domain again in about 2018... see wiki

KiNgBrAdLeY7: 2) The suffering: Prison is Hell. It was distributed by the US Airforce, and MANY different third party webpages gave it out as freeware, free.
It wasn't free. As far as I know the "free" version of The Suffering was ad-powered, doesn't work anymore and never worked for anybody from outside of the US. It was the same thing with Far Cry.

I know, hence why I said people/companies exploiting loopholes and the like, since Copyright was originally conceived to protect the creators but now you have companies who buy up the rights and sit on them or use them for whatever. Basically it's a mess and needs to be re-written of course even if that should happen it would only be a matter of time before some lawyer finds some new loophole to exploit. Which means the law should be re-worked every few years to prevent it from being exploited. Sadly not enough people push for it and let all the wrong people keep it the way it is.

Sure it wont happen overnight but so long as people hang in their change should come.

It worked for me. But it was the first version of suffering, which had bugs and glitches (like sound/visual problems after using environment items, like prison's toilet or faucets). The next version, by zoo digital publishing, was better.

Maybe it didn't work for some people, because it was the first version. The buggy and glitchy one. But yet again, we are both off topic...
Why would they bother?

SCPM: GOG added two freeware games here mid-September last year, and two freeware games the year before, so I guess this month we could see two new freeware games arrive.
Then again, this year they added two freeware movies.

Large companies like disney can hire several lawyers to be there day and night at legislation to sway laws in their direction. Unless you're a rich person (and that's only 3% of the population, so that's unlikely) then you can only put so much of your personal time aside to try and fight for changing things to how they should be. Even if you took a month off, Disney and other companies say Microsoft or Apple or the other big names can keep people lined there for years long before you arrive and long after you're gone.

It's the case of a human fighting an ant colony, their numbers are nearly infinite and it's only a matter of time before you run out of energy, and they are fresh and ready to fight all the time...

You can replace ants with zombies too, that works...
I support getting freeware high up on the wishlist, such as OMF 2097.
