My mate just picked up a blade server he won on e-bay for $20... aside from what looks to be an issue with it's raid array the pentium 3 1.266ghz cpu with 512 ram and god knows what GPU in it is running it's Windows server 2000 O.S. well.
So he's dumped it off at my place and needless to say as he was walking out the door to go to work i start installing 'Lo Wang Shadow Warrior'.
A game that harkens back to Doom and Duke Nukem days, needless to say aside from a little issue getting large VGA screen sizes (probably because i was running it on my 50" fullHD plasma [It doesn't like different aspect ratios i think... especially small ones]) and the fact it only has i think onboard tandy based sound it ran flawlessly.
So now i can play a game that at the time i had purchased but never ended up having a computer for long to play it on as technology had already started it's forward march on me.
It's also running strife flawlessly (it allows tandy based sound) and i can't wait to see what other great old games i can dig up between my group of friends to install on this badboy.
I'm sure theres other people who are already sharing my excitement for native dos/win95 based gaming, but i was just that thrilled i had to tell someone lol.
I've set the basic windows desktop up with a castle of the winds backdrop for when he drops round to lan next (just in order to give him the hint of it's functionality :D)
If I'm not mistaken somebody did a Duke Nukem Lo Wang crossover at some point. I think both games used the same engine and both were definitely 3D Realms games.

EDIT: It's going to be really cool when the 3dfx emulation patch hits dosbox.
